Against The Darkness

She sat alone in the darkness forever. In a moment
of unhappiness she shouted out against the cold
unfeeling emptiness. A clap of such intensity followed
that it brought with it a tiny spark of light.
She became aware of what she had done and delight
overcame her. She continued the clapping until
the darkness was all but eliminated from her realm.
With the pints of light came warmth and companionship
to the Creator. She learned laughter from the happiness
and soon followed a song to express her newly found
contentment. She called them her lovelies, and
they danced to giver her pleasure and hope.
She sat surrounded by the light, and pondered
her lovelies. She wished for more. She became aware
that she needed sound. She sang this need to the lovelies
and so it was that they learned to sing for her.
They were only light and thus had only light thoughts.
They were only able to sing back what she had taught
them. As she became aware of this she sang to them
of intelligence and awareness. The lovelies learned
and began to sing their songs to her.
Again she sat contentedly and listened.
After a time the lovelies began to sing to each other
and did not think of her feelings in this.
She sat in the light and was alone to her thoughts.
In a moment of unhappiness she cried out against
the light and the lovelies. Again there came a clap
of great intensity. With this force the lovelies
were thrown away from her. They were strewn across
the darkness, where she could barely see them.
She found herself in a half-light space, alone
with her thoughts now. She cried. It was anger
and jealously which caused her to do this thing.
And she was ashamed at her actions. It was done
and she could not undo the damage she had created.
She wept until sleep came to relieve her suffering.
She awoke in the half-light, and was surprised
by what she witnessed. Her lovelies continued
to shine and sing, and she knew what it was to be
forgiven. With this her felt the need to create
and to fill the darkness with the beauty which filled her
heart. For her lovelies she created planets
with atmospheres in which life came forth to keep
her lovelies from loneliness. She gave the planets
moons to shine when the darkness fell, that there
could always be light to live by. She planted
the seeds for all things in the universe. She sits
now in the middle and watches, contented....
